Prior to joining the Center, Juan served as Hispanic Banking Director for BankFirst at Norfolk, Nebraska. He also served for many years on the REAP advisory board and joined the Center’s board of directors in 2007.
Fluent in both English and Spanish, Juan graduated in Modern Languages from the University of Carabobo at Valencia, Venezuela, in 1993. He went on to graduate with Honors from Antonio Jose De Sucre College, majoring in administration with a minor in marketing, also at Valencia in 1998. He left Venezuela in 1999.
“Juan has done a tremendous job during his training phase and has basically ‘hit the ground running.’ He will make a big difference for many startup and existing Hispanic entrepreneurs and others in Nebraska,” said Jeff Reynolds, REAP Program Director.
REAP is Nebraska’s largest microenterprise program and operates on a statewide, rural basis through regionally-based Business Specialists. REAP provides lending, loan packaging, training, networking, and technical assistance for startup and existing small microenterprises (businesses with 5 or fewer employees).
