Development Matters: Rural Work

Summertime is full of fun and activity. Between family gatherings and abundant growth of crops and gardens, the sights and sounds of Rural America move me.

We do so many things so well on farms and in small towns. Rural places provide much more than raw materials. Rural issues and the actions we take to address them anchor the culture and course of our nation and the world.

In this world where news is too often made in far-off places, rural areas tend to be forgotten. Important facets of rural life are left by the wayside. Without an active effort to make rural issues important to the debate, being left behind will be the norm.

The Center for Rural Affairs works to make sure that doesn’t happen. But we can’t do it without your help. Contact me, Matt Connealy (402.687.2103 x 1009 or mattc@cfra.org) to explore the possibilities.
