Dairy Council Grant Funds Healthy Eating & Physical Activity Initiatives in Schools

Fuel Up to Play 60 is a student-led wellness initiative that is a partnership between the Dairy Council and the National Football League. It offers many wellness resources to schools, including Farm to School resources.

Schools can learn more about our Midwest Dairy Association Farm to School resources here. You’ll find a short, fun video about dairy farming (highly recommended!). Lots of other Dairy Farm Facts are available too. You can even request a dairy farmer to visit your school!

Survey Shows Early Childhood Is a Great Time for Farm to School

The results are in: Farm to School in early care and education builds healthy kids with bright futures!

In 2015, the National Farm to School Network surveyed early care and education providers across the country. Nearly 1,500 providers serving 183,369 young children in 49 states and Washington, DC, responded and shared with us fascinating insight into the important work that they are doing to connect young children to healthy, local foods and food related educational opportunities.

Beef: It’s What’s for Lunch

I was really excited to attend the Midwest Farm to School Conference. Not only to learn more about Farm to School in general, but particularly getting local beef into my kids’ own school lunch, especially since my family raises beef. It only seems logical that my kids and their fellow students should be consuming beef grown just a few miles from the school house instead of mystery meat from who knows where.
