Meet Juan Sandoval, REAP Hispanic Business Center Director

I grew up in the 3rd largest city in Venezuela. When I moved to Norfolk, Nebraska in 1999, it was a bit of a culture shock. But I love that everyone in town knows who I am. Everywhere I go, I run into a friend.

I have learned to appreciate the little things in life. When I’m driving through Nebraska, I take a moment every day to look at the beautiful prairies, small farms, red barns, soy and corn fields, feedlots, and many brick buildings dating from the 1800-1900s. In all, Rural America is a great place to live.

REAP Staff the Hardest Working in the Country!

REAP is well known as the go-to program for entrepreneurs in need of services including lending, loan packaging, one-on-one counseling, business plan development, and specialized entrepreneurial training.

Our staff has come a long way since we began in 1990. Initially, REAP was a full-service Peer-Group lending program. The ability to organize and maintain peer groups was a high priority for staff back then.

By the late 1990’s, direct lending had become the norm. Working one-on-one with entrepreneurs became a prized skill, in addition to working with others.

Lorena opened Mi Mundo in August of 2013. She steadily expanded her offerings and used an entrepreneur’s best tool: creativity! In doing so, Lorena created a unique niche in the market.
