REAP is well known as the go-to program for entrepreneurs in need of services including lending, loan packaging, one-on-one counseling, business plan development, and specialized entrepreneurial training.
Our staff has come a long way since we began in 1990. Initially, REAP was a full-service Peer-Group lending program. The ability to organize and maintain peer groups was a high priority for staff back then.
By the late 1990’s, direct lending had become the norm. Working one-on-one with entrepreneurs became a prized skill, in addition to working with others.
Over time, staff titles have evolved. Our specialists located across the state were first called Field Service Representatives. Then they became Business Specialists. Now they are Loan Specialists.
Regardless of the program model, job title, or duties, REAP’s mission remained unchanged: We are committed to strengthening rural communities through small, self-employed business development.
One thing has been a constant for our staff. They have always desired to be the best in the microenterprise / small business field. The ever-present desire to help Nebraska’s entrepreneurs be the best they can be remains status quo.
As REAP continues to evolve and change, you can be assured our staff will continue to be the hardest working microenterprise development staff in the United States. The program was founded on this premise, and continues today.
