Guest writer Sara Brownwood, GROW Nebraska Marketing Technology Director, contributed this article for our REAP 25th Anniversary celebration.
GROW Nebraska and the Center for Rural Affairs' Rural Enterprise Assistance Project (REAP) have partnered for over 15 years to help make Nebraska’s businesses strong. GROW Nebraska’s™ mission is to create sustainable economic development by supporting entrepreneurs and small businesses through promotion, market access, and education.
Loans are part of the partnership. GROW identifies borrowers, provides marketing technical assistance, and starts the loan process. REAP provides loan technical assistance, closes, and administers the loan of up to $10,000. With larger loans, referrals to REAP are a natural.
This year REAP and GROW teamed up with others to offer a special training opportunity the day before the MarkeTECH Conference. The REAP Women’s Business Center offered business-focused training on topics such as Financial Statements and Online Security.
It was great! The conference added more training not solely focused on marketing. REAP is well-known and respected as a source of credible information for business, which helped us deliver results.
The future looks bright for GROW and REAP as our partnership continues to develop. Dena Beck, REAP Senior Project Leader, is on the GROW Advisory council. Monica Braun, REAP Women’s Business Center Director, is on the MarkeTECH planning committee.
Together, GROW and REAP, are continually looking for new ways to help support growing Nebraska business.
