March Event Dedicated to Growing Women Entrepreneurs

To help celebrate Women’s History Month, we've planned a day of insights, inspiration, and personal growth. Together with the US Small Business Administration, our REAP Women’s Business Center will host speakers designed to inspire and offer down-to-earth advice for women to start or grow a small business.

The Women Entrepreneurs Conference is scheduled for March 18 from 8 am to 3:30 pm at the YWCA of Grand Island, Nebraska, located at 211 East Fonner Park Road. To kick things off, Patricia Brown-Dixon and Rebecca Greenwald, both with the US Small Business Administration, will offer remarks.

Others on the agenda include:

  • Jennifer Rosenblatt of Argyle Octopus, a marketing firm honored as the SBA’s Small Business of the Year for the 1st Congressional District in 2014
  • J’Nan Ensz, Accounting and Business Consulting Group, LLC
  • Speakers from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Entrepreneurship Legal Clinic
  • And, a panel of local entrepreneurs who will share their challenges and successes as women small business owners

The event also will offer a half-hour fun and fast networking event hosted by Lisa Tschauner and Megan Arrington of Open For Business Magazine, to connect entrepreneurs with resource providers and other small businesses.

The $35 registration fee also covers lunch. Register online here by March 11, 2015. If you'd like more information, please contact me, Monica Braun, at or 402.643.2673. Thanks to Michael Foutch with the SBA's Nebraska District Office for his assistance with this post.
