Pilot Program for New Farmer Savings Accounts

We’re recruiting Nebraska participants for a pilot Individual Development Account (IDA) program for new farmers and ranchers. IDA programs are common for helping low-income people learn to save and to purchase productive assets, education, or housing.

We’re testing a program to provide beginners with training and combined savings of $1000 toward purchase of a farm asset. Participant eligibility is based on the Farm Service Agency definitions for “beginning farmer.” Call or write me, Wyatt Fraas, for application materials: wyattf@cfra.org or 402.254.6893.
