MLK Breakfast - Norfolk, Neb.

An inaugural breakfast will be held in Norfolk, Nebraska, to celebrate the life and vision of Martin Luther King Jr.

The event will be at the Lifelong Learning Center, 801 E. Benjamin Ave. Doors to the event open at 6:30 a.m. with breakfast served at 7 a.m.

The public is invited to the event. Seating is limited and an RSVP is required.

The featured speaker is Vickie Young, president of the Omaha Branch of the NAACP.

The event is hosted by Mayor’s Diversity Council in partnership with Northeast Community College .

The aim of event and the Diversity Council is to “enhance diversity and inclusion in the Norfolk area by helping to create a welcoming environment throughout the community, developing and building relationships, emphasizing the importance of diversity in our school systems, and engaging minority communities in the civic process.”

The event is sponsored by Center for Rural Affairs, US Bank, Nebraska Public Power District, Elkhorn Valley Bank, Victory Road Assembly of God, Northeast Community College, Norfolk Area Chamber of Commerce, Ponca Tribe of Nebraska, Volk Farms, William and Vicki R. Coby, and the City of Norfolk.
