Farm to School Training and Networking

School food service staff and Nebraska fruit and vegetable growers are invited to a free Farm to School training and networking event.

Who: School Food Service Staff AND Nebraska Fruit and Vegetable Growers
When: Monday, June 27, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. with an optional free lunch from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
Where: Holiday Inn, 110 S. Second Ave., Kearney, NE
Registration: Free. Please RSVP in advance with Sarah Smith, sarahs@cfra.org or 402.783.1183.
Lunch is provided. Mileage reimbursement is available for fruit and vegetable growers.

Learn best practices for bringing local fruits and vegetables to school trays. 

Farm to School increases school meal participation and provides healthier options for students. Schools are reliable large purchasers of fruits and vegetable, and are a largely untapped market for farmers.

Continuing education credits are available.

This Center for Rural Affairs event is held in cooperation with the National Farm to School Network and the Nebraska Extension.
