I live in a small town in Iowa and I follow all of this farm bill stuff more than I should. I get emails from a dozen different groups claiming to fight for my interests, or the interest of my father and uncle who farm, but most groups don't seem to represent anything more than their own Washington D.C. interests.

Even in just the last few days I have gotten the emails. "Support the farm bill." "This is the last chance. Help get the farm bill passed."  On and on they go, but none of them barely mention real policy and real people and real communities. Then I got your newsletter today and read your blog post.

Thank you. Finally someone is speaking out for the things that really matter to rural America. I never thought I would say it either, but the President is right on about this one. I only wish I could say my own senators and representatives were standing up for my interests.
