REAP Women's Business Center Entrepreneur of the Year

Stacy Chingren identified the need for a contemporary bakery and café in North Platte and returned home from Omaha to fill that void. In 2009, Gracie Mae’s Bakery and Café opened its doors and offered the community a fresh new place to order baked goods, grab a latté and even order lunch!

Gracie Mae’s is a unique bakery and café where everything is prepared fresh daily, and the ambiance is welcoming to people of all ages.

Millions of Americans Enroll for Health Insurance

The initial health insurance enrollment period in the Affordable Care Act has come and gone. Early figures are promising. They show 7.5 million Americans have enrolled in private insurance through the federal and state marketplace. This figure met both administration goals and Congressional Budget Office projections for the initial ACA open enrollment period.
 

$10 Million Lending Plateau Reached

REAP, the Center's small business development program, has reached an historical plateau in placement of loans. We closed a loan in northeast Nebraska that put us over 10 million dollars loaned for the history of the program. This is a significant accomplishment for us. But more importantly, it is a testament to rural Nebraska entrepreneurs and their entrepreneurial spirit!
